Sponsors of the four gates of Gloucester
Ivan Taylor, formerly owner of Truscott’s Jewellers in College Court, is behind the organisation. He has been taking positive action in the City for years, from getting groups of people to help buy the Tailor of Gloucester shop, and bringing together groups of people to purchase and reopen other closed premises in the City, to putting up and watering hanging baskets around Westgate Street and the Cathedral entrance, to employing a cleaner to help with cleaning the street.
It was Ivan’s Idea (and “I’ve an Idea” is something people who know him will often hear him say) to bring the City Centre into the technological age and provide a business directory etc, in the same tenacity a new shopping centre would have its own website and social media.
The Four Gates was the idea of Ivan Taylor who funds the site and is determined to promote the wonderful city of Gloucester. The Four Gates have an office in Friars Court, just off Westgate Street
Ivan is doing everything possible to help the Four Gates of Gloucester and is a member of the Gloucester Bid and the Gloucester Chamber of Commerce.
This site was designed and is being maintained by Eddie Eldridge. If you find anything technically wrong it is probably his fault. Eddie is now retired but ran a business in Gloucester for many years. You will often see him in the city taking photos for this site
