Mark Cummings has presented his final breakfast show on BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
The presenter is leaving the corporation after a radio career spanning 40 years and 18 years at the helm of the breakfast show in Gloucester.
Mark presented shows from the top of the old Severn Bridge, piloted a small aircraft over the county and cycled up all of Gloucestershire’s major hills – 29,000 feet in a day – the equivalent of peddling up Everest.
He even embarked on an epic walk in the footsteps of Dick Whittington from Pauntley in Gloucestershire right into the city of London.
Mark presented in a range of slots on the schedule from the studios in London Road including the mid-morning show before taking over the breakfast show baton from Vernon Harwood in 2005.
Changes to BBC Radio Gloucestershire will see a large amount of local programming cut and replaced with regional and national programming.
Schedule changes will see local programmes broadcast in Gloucester from 6am until 2pm during the week and a small selection of hours at the weekend.
David Smith will cover present the breakfast show until a new presenter is announced after the summer.
