A woman was robbed in a field in Quedgeley over the weekend.

The incident happened as the victim walked a dog through the large field between Stephenson Drive and Naas Lane at around 11.30pm on Saturday.

The woman was listening to music and holding her mobile phone in her hand when she noticed a group of two males and a female walking in the opposite direction.

They walked past her but a few moments later the victim felt a sudden pain to the back of her head, as though she had been struck on the head with a blunt object. She fell to the ground and dropped her phone and dog lead.

Those in the group then attacked her – pulling her hair, slapping, punching and scratching her and forcing her to the ground again, demanding money.

Eventually the woman managed to get free and run away. She later found the dog in a neighbour’s garden and the phone in the field the next day.

The woman had suffered a lump to the back of her head and cuts and abrasions to her face, hands and arms.

The female offender is described as white, around 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build and with dark hair that was slicked back into a pony tail.

Anyone with information about the incident or witnessed the group in the field on the night should call 101 and quote incident 321 of 11 December.
