Officers investigating a serious assault in Gloucester city centre are appealing for witnesses.

A 36-year-old man left Fusion on Southgate Street at around 12.30am on Tuesday 13 September. He was then assaulted and taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital by an ambulance, after sustaining serious head injuries. He has since been discharged.

There is currently not a description of the offender and it is not known exactly where the assault took place. Officers are trawling CCTV of the city centre to establish these details.

Anyone who thinks they saw the assault should call police on 101 quoting incident 208 of 13 September.
