Three men have been sentenced to a total of six years in prison after a burglary in Berkeley.

The burglary occurred on Tuesday 3 March 2015 at a cottage at Hill, where around £40,000 of family jewellery was stolen including a £20,000 diamond-studded engagement ring.

Benjamin Campbell, aged 22, of Church View in Berkeley was jailed for 32 months and Kaine Emery, aged 22, of St Frederick Thomas Road in Dursley was jailed for 22 months, after both pleading guilty to burglary.

Jamie Eyre, aged 23, of Meadowvale in Dursley was jailed for 18 months after he pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods, as he drove the other two defendants to the cottage and to Gloucester after the burglary.

They were sentenced at Gloucester Crown Court on Tuesday 12 April.
