secunda way

Drivers are being advised to allow extra time for journeys while repair work takes place this month on the A430 Secunda Way, known locally as Hempsted bypass.

The repairs will take place between Wednesday 20th and Monday 25th April on the stretch of the road which runs between Sainsbury’s and the junction with traffic lights at Hempsted Lane.

Highways crews will be onsite from 9.30am to 4pm each day, avoiding the busy travel time periods.

The road will remain open during the work, but to keep the workforce and road users safe, two way traffic lights and a convoy vehicle will be used to guide traffic through.

Every effort will be made to minimise disruption for both residents and drivers, and those who continue to use the road while the improvements take place are being thanked in advance for their patience.

Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways and flood said, “When repairs take place on Secunda Way this month we’re going to make sure our work doesn’t effect the morning and afternoon rush hours and the road will be kept open at all times, but if you do use this popular city route, please allow extra time for your journey.”
