A persistent shoplifter has been banned from Gloucester city centre after receiving a criminal behaviour order at court.
Bradley John Windle, 37 and of Deans Way in Gloucester, appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where he pleaded guilty to two thefts from shops in the city.
A Criminal Behaviour Order was then granted meaning Windle cannot enter the city centre except when he has an arranged appointment or enter any business that is part of the Gloucester City Safe scheme.
The order will last two years and any breach could result in a prison sentence.
PC Mark Mansfield said: “Windle has been a constant thorn in the side of businesses and the police in Gloucester. He’s been responsible for tens of shoplifting cases, causing harassment, alarm and distress to many.
“We hope this order helps change things but if it doesn’t he could face prison.
“We’re releasing his photo so that people can report any breaches to us on 101.”
