The Conservatives retain an overall majority, after winning 22 out of 39 seats at the recent local elections.

Paul James said, “I am delighted to be re-elected Leader after 9 years in the role.  My enthusiasm for the city and for the job is as great as it was on day one.  We were re-elected with an ambitious programme for Gloucester and we will be energetic in our pursuit of delivering our contract with the electorate.  I am fortunate to have a strong team behind me and we will be working hard to keep Gloucester on the up.”
