A promotion into the Gloucester Premier league is within reach for Old Richians RFC, and if all goes to plan and they come away with a win against Widden Old Boys this weekend then the team will have the promotion they’ve worked so tirelessly for this season.

The First XV team have racked up 16 wins and 1 draw this season. Some of the most notable wins for the First XV team this season including winning 72-0 against Painswick, 36-0 against Old Cryptians and 48-14 against St Brendans this past weekend. These wins have boosted the clubs points difference, with the team having racked up 156 points.

If all goes to plan and they’re successful this Saturday, they only need to come away with 1 point against Southmead on Saturday 19th March in order to be crowned champions this season.

Andy Jarrrett, Head Coach at Old Richians RFC, commented:

“Our confidence has grown throughout the whole season but it’s evident now that we truly believe we deserve our place at the top. With so many leaders in the squad we have been able to continue moving forward regardless of injuries and unavailabilities.”
