Gloucester City Council is once again following the North Star in search of the city’s best Christmas window display.
The Christmas window competition has five different categories this year; national chain, independent retailer, elf and beauty, food and drink, and charity shops.
Judging will take place on 8th December, with Cllr Paul James, Cllr Pam Tracey, Mayor Neil Hampson and city centre manager Jason Merritt considering the beautiful offerings on display. Winners and runners up will be notified on 16th December.
Cllr Paul James, leader of Gloucester City Council said, “The Christmas best dressed window competition recognises those businesses that bring the spirit of Christmas to the heart of Gloucester.
“This competition is absolutely fantastic, but it is so hard to judge a winner when there are so many fantastic displays. I want to thank each and every business that enters into the spirit of the festive season, regardless of whether they win or not.”
Jason Merritt, city centre manager, said: “Over the Christmas period, many retailers and businesses go to great lengths to ensure their premises look as festive as possible. The competition is our way of thanking them for all their effort and for the pleasure their windows bring to everyone.”
