Gloucestershire Youth Wind Orchestra

Gloucestershire Symphonic Wind Orchestra (GSWO) is hosting two events in Gloucester over the next month.

The two events will be held at Colwell Arts Centre on Derby Road, Gloucester and give advanced musicians in the area the chance to play with two professionals.

The first event, on Monday 16th May, will see the rehearsal led by Johnny Morrish, former band master of the Royal Marines.

The second is being held on Monday 13th June, and the group will be hosting composer Martin Ellerby for the evening.

He will be giving advice and guidance in the performance of his own works, which GSWO are currently working on.

GSWO is aimed at providing advanced adult wind, brass and percussionists with the opportunity to rehearse and perform challenging wind band repertoire.

It welcomes new adult members (minimum grade 7) who may attend either or both of the events above, but attendees must bring their own instruments.
