Gloucester Burger Review has been reviewing burgers in Gloucester since April and has now tasted 19 of the City’s burgers. As it is #NationalBurgerDay we thought it’s the right time to share our ongoing findings.
According to data from Gloucester Burger Review, a blog dedicated to finding the best burger in Gloucester, the average price for a burger in Gloucester is £9.63, the cheapest burger found so far is Burger Star’s Giant Star Burger with Cheese & Bacon coming in at a favourable £6.50. For people who want to spend a bit more money, CHiMiCHANGA’s Smoky Mountain burger has been the most expensive, priced at £12.75.
Each burger has been rated out of 10 in the following categories; Beef, Bun, Fillings, Sides, Aesthetic Appeal and an overall out of 10 rating has been produced. Gloucester Burger Review has found that the burger with the best beef in Gloucester is Hubble Bubble’s beef burger scoring a remarkable 10 out of 10.
Buns are an interesting subject in the world of burgers, to brioche or not to brioche? Well, Gloucester Burger Review has the answer, Brioche. The burger with the best bun in Gloucester has been found and it is a joint accolade, Ed’s Easy Diner, Tank and CHiMiCHANGA all rated 9 out of 10 on bun quality.
Fillings is a very diverse category and can make or break a burger. This category however has produced two astonishing 10 out of 10s. The Tank Burger with its delicious choice of cheeses and Charcuterie menu, not to mention Tubby Tom’s Chipotle BBQ sauce is a game changer. The other 10 came at Coal Grill & Bar, ‘The Frenchie’ burger produced an outstanding performance with its melted brie and caramelised red onion.
Sides are either outstanding or severely neglected, but the stats don’t lie. Gloucester produced four 9s out of 10 in this category. Café Rene, Tank, TGI Fridays and Coal Grill & Bar can all take a bow with their fantastic chips and onion rings.
Aesthetic Appeal is where the true burgerteers cut their mustard, this is where you can separate the men from the boys and see who has taken time and care with their burger. The highest scoring mark in this category is 9 out of 10 coming from the fantastic Tank Burger. Hats off to the chef at Tank, this beautiful burger is neatly packed into its bun and bursting with flavour.
So what is the best burger in Gloucester (so far)? Gloucester Burger Review can reveal that The Tank Burger comes out on top with an overall score of 9 out of 10. The top 5 is as follows:
