Gloucester City Council have announced that Kier Construction is the preferred bidder for the new bus station in Gloucester.

The project will deliver a much needed new passenger station for the city’s residents and visitors. The old outdated facilities will be replaced, creating a quality environment for passengers and a stunning new look to the transport gateway of Gloucester.

Ben Ramsay, operations director at Kier, said: “The new bus station is a major step in Gloucester’s regeneration and it is an exciting prospect to be part of the team that is going to transform public access to the city”.

Cllr Paul James, leader of Gloucester City Council and cabinet member for regeneration and economy, said: “The appointment of our preferred bidder for the building of our new bus station is another significant milestone for this major project.

“I am delighted that a locally-based firm has made it through to this stage, which is good news for local jobs and the economy.”

Work continues in Gloucester as part of the regeneration of the city.
