Rediscover your city between the 18th and 20th of March with the Gloucester Resident’s Weekend.

With close to 100 special offers to take advantage of, the 3-day event organised by Marketing Gloucester will include free and discounted admission to many local attractions, free guided tours and special offers at numerous shops and restaurants for Gloucester Residents.

Paul James, Leader of the Council said: “Residents’ Weekend gives Residents of Gloucester a chance to get out into their city and explore all the great places and attractions it has to offer. It’s great to see so many local business’s and attractions coming together to give back to the people of the city and help put on a spectacular weekend for the residents to enjoy”.

In keeping with the theme of finding out more about your city, on Saturday, King’s Square will host stalls for various local community groups from 10am until 4pm, including Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, Gloucester City Marathon, Young Gloucestershire, the Hello Gloucester team and the Cotswold Prostate Cancer support group. Along with all these, there will also be live music throughout the weekend and an international Market on The Cross on Saturday.

Lise Noakes, Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure said: “The offers this year are appealing and really give the people of Gloucester a diverse mix of activities and discounts. It’s great to see so many attractions offering free entry as well as the Civic Trust providing such a range of free tours which give residents the opportunity to learn so much more about the city they live in”

To take advantage of all the offers and discounts, Gloucester residents need to complete a special form and hand it in to one of the following locations: Gloucester Tourist Information Centre, The Eastgate Shopping Centre Help Desk, or the Gloucester Quays Customer Service Desk in order to obtain a FREE Residents’ Card.

Forms can either be downloaded from or they can be obtained from one of the locations listed above. Residents will need to show their Residents’ Card in order to obtain the free discounts and special offers available throughout the weekend.
