Gloucestershire Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a handbag in Gloucester yesterday.

A woman was walking along Westgate Street in the direction of Lower Quay Street.  She had just walked past the Archdeacon Street junction near Nick’s Taverna when she felt a strong yank on her arm.  A man on a bicycle had cycled past and grabbed the strap of her handbag pulling it from her shoulder.  The cyclist continued with the bag in the direction of The Cross.

The red Gucci bag contained personal documentation and a purse with cash and bank cards.

The man is described as white, aged 20-25.  He appeared quite tall, of slim build and wearing dark clothes with a blue or black coat. The bike was a traditional style bike in a dark colour.
