Fresh faces at Gloucester City Council by Shaun Moore | Gloucester News Centre - http://gloucesternewscentre.co.uk/
Two new Corporate Directors have been appointed at Gloucester City Council to join the management team from May 2016.
Anne Brinkhoff will join the city council, leading on partnership working, while Jonathan Lund will lead on service transformation.
The roles have been created to strengthen the work that the city council has already started in regenerating the city, building strong community links and making Gloucester an excellent place to live, work and visit.
Both have a proven track record of working successfully for councils and their appointment will help drive the ambitions of the city forward.
Anne is currently a Programme Manager with the LGA, but was formerly a Director at Cotswold District Council, giving her a really strong insight into the demands and needs of a local authority, and how to make the most of the exciting times that lie ahead for Gloucester following last years Rugby World Cup.
Anne Brinkhoff said: “Gloucester is a fantastic city and I can’t wait to get started in my new role. Today, working in local government is so much more than just providing services – bringing our partners and communities closer together is essential if we’re to get the best deal for our city and I hope to play a key part in that.
“Like all local authorities, the city council faces many challenges and I will be looking for every opportunity available to meet those challenges head on for the good of city residents.”
Jonathan Lund is currently deputy chief executive at Selby District Council, in North Yorkshire and has extensive experience of driving change in local authorities to deliver the best possible services.
He said: “I want to make sure that I make a positive impact in Gloucester, and I am really looking forward to starting next month.
“We are at a time when local councils like Gloucester need to make sure the services being provided are working for the right people and that often means doing things differently.
“Gloucester has already done a lot of work on transforming its back office and making efficiencies through better partnership working, now we have to build on that work and take the city to the next level.”
