The 25 year old building surveyor has recently hung up her tiara and is now the former Miss Cheltenham and is looking forward to starting her new role with the trust. “I have been an Ambassador for the Hollie Gazzard Trust for 16 months and really enjoyed every challenge put in front of me to help support, fundraise and spread the message of the Trust,” Sophie said. “This has included running three of my own fundraising events, volunteering, helping make Hollie hearts, running 2 half marathons and a devil mud run for the charity and even jumping out of a plane to raise funds for the Trust; it is tough but also very rewarding to support such a wonderful local charity and family doing great work in Hollies memory.
“Now I can add to the ambassadorial role as a trustee with the experience behind me as Miss Cheltenham. I plan to bring some new and fresh ideas to the table as well as continuing to support the important projects already in hand; I can’t wait to get going with my new role”
Sophie will be the youngest ever Trustee for the charity, something that does not phase Trust chairman Nick Gazzard who welcomes Sophie on board. Nick said: “I would hope the skills and experience that Sophie has gained as Miss Cheltenham will lend themselves to the work the trust are doing. She was a great ambassador and now we will get to work even closer with her as we continue to grow as a charity.”
