Secretary Samantha Pennington from Bruton Knowles – who has been involved in organising the Society’s activities over the past 25 years said: “To say I was overwhelmed was an understatement, this Society continues to go from strength to strength and the standard of entrants who want to win gets bigger and better every year.”
To mark her long service, the chairman from 1991 Mr John Burcher presented Sam with a YSL handbag following donations from the membership and sponsors.
Land Rover kindly donated a half day off road experience and the President auctioned it off and raised £300. With other donations on the evening the society raised £1,200 for Maggies Cancer trust in Cheltenham.
The GRFGS was established in 1863 to ‘promote excellence through competition’.
