Forest of Dean legends EMF are to perform at this year’s Sportbeat Festival.

The band will play the main stage on Saturday night at the festival.

This will be the ONLY live performance they will play in Gloucestershire as they celebrate their 25th anniversary year of Schubert Dip.

EMF haven’t played in the county since December 2013 at the Gloucester Guildhall which sold out in less than 24 hours.

EMF frontman, James Atkin told GNC: “We are super excited to be performing at this year’s Sportbeat Festival. Twenty-five years ago we released our first album ‘Schubert Dip’ which saw us launch a career filled with discovery, debauchery, teenage shenanigans, heartache and way too much fun-addled bellyaches. The thought of us getting back on stage and ripping it up again is joyous. We always revelled in our live shows, giving 100% to every performance. We are back, and ready to party like it’s 1991!”

SportBeat festival director, Jody Gooding said “We are really happy to have such a local talent who made it to the big time perform on our main stage at SportBeat Festival this year joining the already great lineup. We still have loads of great acts to announce including our Saturday Headliner.”

EMF join a lineup which includes Happy Mondays, Echo & The Bunnymen, Jaguar Skills, Coast and Duke.

The festival takes place on August 20th – 21st at the Oxstalls Sports Park, Plock Court, Gloucester.
