Elvis brings stars to the eyes of hospice by Shaun Moore | Gloucester News Centre - http://gloucesternewscentre.co.uk/
An Elvis impersonator who has appeared on TV show ‘Stars in your Eyes’ is coming to Cheltenham.
Adam Carter, who has been performing for 20 years, will sing Elvis Presley’s greatest hits at the Swindon Village Hall event on Saturday 28th January in a special charity tribute night.
Organised by local community radio presenter, James Locke, the event will raise funds for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice.
Taking the audience on a journey of Elvis Presley’s life featuring multiple costume changes and performances of all of his greatest hits, the evening promises to be a rocking success and will be rounded off with a charity disco by James to get everyone on the dance floor.
A charity raffle will also take place with some fantastic prizes up for grabs including a DAB/CD Media centre from event sponsors D G Locke Property Maintenance worth £130, Cheltenham Town Hall show event tickets, Roses Theatre Film Tickets, £40 voucher for Cheltenham pizza, cider and pie restaurant, The Stable, and passes to attend a day at Cheltenham Races donated by Cheltenham Racecourse.
James said “Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court do a fantastic job. We have had excellent experiences of the care they provide when family have been ill, which is why the fundraiser is a real family affair with my dad sponsoring the event too.”
“I have been supporting Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court over the past year compering at some of their events including Ride for Ryder and Starlight Hike. I’ve built friendships with the fundraisers and volunteers and I see that everything people do to help support the hospice is greatly appreciated. That’s why I wanted to take another step in supporting them this year by organising my own event to help raise much needed funds so the nursing team can continue providing their care.”
“I would like to thank my dad for sponsoring the event – paying for the venue, food and ticket printing – which means that all money raised will go directly to the hospice.”
Mike Tague, Head of Hospice Fundraising said, “This is fantastic way to raise funds for our hospice. Not only does it offer a brilliant night of entertainment but it will help raise funds so we can continue to provide care for local families at a time they need us most.”
“We are so grateful to James for his volunteering support at our fundraising events over the past year, and we’re thrilled he has decided to support us even further by organising a fundraising event himself. As a charity we can’t provide our care without this vital fundraising support.”
Due to demand tickets are now extremely limited but those remaining cost £12.50 including complimentary buffet. To secure your ticket email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07495 175748.
