As the festive period takes hold Gloucestershire County Council partner, Griffiths, is donating £500 worth of children’s toys to local charity, Hamper Scamper.

Hamper Scamper is CCP’s Christmas Giving Scheme. It is designed to spread festive cheer to some of the most disadvantaged children, young people, families and vulnerable adults at Christmas time.

As the charity relies so heavily on the generosity of donations, Gloucestershire County Council asked Griffiths, its contractor working on the Elmbridge roundabout improvements, if it could donate £500 worth of construction toys to the charity.

Nigel Davies from Alun Griffiths Ltd said: “We are delighted to have donate to a worthy Charity and to bring laughter joy and happiness to children this Christmas.”

Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways at Gloucestershire County Council, said: “We were so pleased when Griffiths agreed to make this generous donation to the CCP charity.

“It’s a great charity that provides joy and happiness at what can be a very difficult time of year for some.”

Cordell Ray, CEO of CCP said: “We are extremely grateful to the team at Griffiths for thinking of CCP and making this donation. Just imagine the joy all of the shiny new diggers will bring to children.

“One of the best things about Hamper Scamper is bringing businesses together to spread Christmas cheer across the county, and that’s just what Griffiths have done this Christmas.”
