NEW Press shot charlatans

Sportbeat really are ramping up with the announcements for their line up and have just released the details for their headliners on the Saturday night (20th August).

I’m delighted to say it’s The Charlatans who will be blasting their hits across Plock Court and are sure to bring smiles and delight to everyone who is planning to go to this year, and attract a great many more people. The Charlatans are fronted by Tim Burgess and have had amazing success over the years have had 7 top 10 albums including no less that THREE number 1 selling albums. Joining them will be outstanding local reggae band King Solomon, the remarkable Quigley, Gloucester’s own Mark Marks, Griz-O, Joey Gill, Prime Position and Third Time Lucky. Bearing in mind the bill already has Happy Mondays, Echo and The Bunnymen and, my personal favourites, EMF – Sportbeat is lining up to be the hottest ticket of the summer. Get yours now at

Also announcing further bands to their line up is Gloucester Guildhall’s Underground Festival which runs on 24th-25th September. Their already impressive bill which includes the likes of Pretty Vicious and The Hunna is now made all the more incredible with the addition of Fatherson, Fort Hope, ROAM, Lisbon, INHEAVEN, Man Of Moon, Big Spring, Boston Manor, Fizzy Blood, The Decoy UK, Ross Angeles and Delicate Holly. Tickets are just £18 for the whole weekend or £10 for day tickets and available via from:

Gig Of The Week

This week is another spectacular gig at The Convent in Stroud, fast becoming a “go to” venue for top quality gigs. This time they welcome four times blues music award winner and Blues Hall Of Fame Inductee Joe Louis Walker on Monday 13th June. The blues guitar legend is heading to the UK for a run of 5 shows so we’re really lucky to have him in the area and this is a unique opportunity to catch him.
Tickets are JUST £10 (amazing value for a man of his calibre) and available from

Song Of The Week

I’m going leftfield this week with my song of the week and hitting you up with a dance track – I know, unusual for me right? With the sun shining and the mood lifted it’s ripe for a summer tune and this one landed in my inbox this week courtesy of my new friend Toni Toolz. The track is called Moonlight Señorita and is by David Pryla and Toni Toolz featuring Telboy. It’s an absolute banger of a summer tune, one for the clubs but also one for the car with the windows down and the sunglasses on!! There are various mixes of it available on release from Big Mix Up Records – you can here previews of it below:
