Gloucester will be even greener for the Queen’s 90th birthday this year as city council partners AMEY have a new ground maintenance kit ahead of spring to keep the city looking clean and fresh.

AMEY, who have a new lease arrangement with HSS, have received new grounds maintenance kit that will allow Gloucester City Council to effectively and efficiently deliver quality grounds maintenance work, at no extra cost.

The replacement equipment has recently arrived and has already been put into use, ahead of spring.

As part of the contract with Gloucester City Council, AMEY are obliged to renew kit to ensure the service is effectively delivered.

Items included in the new kit include strimmer’s, pedestrian mower’s, hedge trimmers, blowers, personal protective equipment and several different hand tools.

Cllr Jim Porter, Gloucester City Council cabinet member for the environment, said: “Having modern, effective and efficient kit is critical to us achieving the high quality of grounds maintenance we require so that our residents and visitors can enjoy our parks and open spaces.

“It is pleasing to see that AMEY have introduced this new kit prior to grass cutting season and it is now being put to good use.

“The equipment will help the city continue to look its best, alongside projects such as Clean for the Queen, which the local community have been fantastic in supporting.”
