Gloucester Cathedral embodies 1,300 years of heritage, from its origins as a 7th Century religious site to the great Cathedral dominating the cityscape today. It is a place full of stories of people and events which have helped define our national identity and also demonstrate the changing face of local life and worship. Gloucester Cathedral is one of the finest medieval buildings in the country. See the tomb of Edward II, Robert Curthose’s monument and some of the most important stained glass in the country – including the spectacular Great East Window. The extraordinary fan-vaulted medieval cloisters are famous throughout the world. Open daily from 8 am until Evensong.
