Set in a 5oo-year-old Tudor Timber Framed building, the Gloucester Life Museum (previously known as folk) is most certainly worth a visit being one of the oldest established museums dedicated to the social history of Gloucester. The collections have been sourced through the years mainly as gifts from the entire county of Gloucestershire, and the building itself is associated with Protestant martyr Bishop Hooper which mirrors the history that awaits inside. Within, the building itself is much larger than expected with a labyrinth of mystery waiting to be discovered by all ages. It features a beautiful cottage garden towards the rear which also boasts as wonderous of a view. There is a wide range of exhibitions, hands-on activities, events, demonstrations, children’s holiday activities, and role playing sessions; all are held throughout the year by knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff that welcome anyone of any age. The wonders inside this aged and mysterious building are not to be missed including a vintage/shabby chic gift shop and cafe (all wheelchair accessible). Ticket Tariffs can be found on the website below. So go on! And have a peek inside this un-missable and treasured attraction.
