Police are appealing for information after a bulldog-type dog injured a lurcher on the grounds of a Gloucester cricket club which sparked an argument between owners.

The incident happened on the sports pitch located on Spa Road, near to Gloucester park at about 6pm on Saturday April 9.

The owner of the lurcher was walking the dog on its lead across the field when the offending dog, thought to be a bulldog or bulldog/pug cross bit its ear. The offending dog then tried to bite the lurcher on its neck but was saved from injury by its collar. The lurcher’s owner then attempted to kick the bulldog off, which then caused an argument between owners.

The owner of the offending dog is described as female, white, with curly blonde hair and aged between her mid-thirties and mid-forties. She spoke with a local accent. The woman was with a large-built man and two children walking a husky.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 361 of April 9.
